Ultra-Weed-a-thon
Help clean up Blackwood and Barry’s Reef’s weeds and get some exercise at the same time.
From Monday, April 13, 2020 Landcare is conducting a nine-week “Ultra-Weed-a-thon”. Every week until mid-June, we’ll be concentrating on a different weed.
Download our booklet Blackwood and District Problem Weeds or pick up your free copy from the Post Office. This handy resource gives you photos and guidance about how to eradicate our nine worst noxious weeds.

Everyone gets a chocolate frog for participating and there will be weekly prizes as well as grand champion prizes at the end of the Weed-a-thon. To be eligible for prizes, post photos of your piles of weeds on our Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/pg/BlackwoodLandcare/posts/ Once you photo goes online, we’ll be in touch to arrange delivery of your Freddo Frog – either to you gatepost or Blackwood PO Box.
No one is expected to use chemicals on the weeds. Hand removal and brush-cutting will be used and weeds should be left in a pile for future burning.
What better way to get out, get some solo-exercise and fresh air during these self-isolation-times while making a valuable contribution towards a better local environment?
